The Summit conversion features a power, fold-out ramp system with high side rails to allow a safer entry and exit. The ramp is made from a high-strength aluminum alloy and can support loads up to 750 lbs.
To reduce ramp angle and make it easier for the wheelchair user to enter and exit, every VMI Summit Toyota Sienna wheelchair van conversion features an automatic, integrated “kneeling” system. The kneeling system activates when the deploy ramp command is initiated. Once the actuator is engaged, it lowers the van’s ramp side closer to the ground, thus reducing the ramp angle.
The obstacle-free front seats allow for easy removal and can be used to create multiple seating arrangements for the wheelchair user and his/her passengers. With both seats removed, the space is large enough to accommodate two wheelchairs side-by-side if needed.
