The Northstar-E Toyota Sienna wheelchair-accessible van features VMI’s patented ramp-on-a-stick design utilizing a manual, in-floor ramp system with a 30-inch wide ramp. Unlike fold-out ramp designs, the ramp stows conveniently underneath the floor, creating additional interior space and maneuverability for the wheelchair user, caregiver, and passengers inside the cabin. The ramp is made from a high-strength aluminum alloy and can support loads up to 1000 lbs.
The obstacle-free front seats on the Toyota Sienna, Northstar-E wheelchair Van are easily removed and installed and can create multiple seating arrangements, as needed for the wheelchair user and their passengers.
All VMI, Northstar wheelchair van conversions have floors built using galvaneal steel. The floors are also E-coated for optimal rust and corrosion prevention. This is a significant feature often overlooked that ensures the longevity of the conversion.
The floor from just behind the firewall is 95 inches to the third-row seat, and the floor is lowered 14.875 inches to create the industry’s most significant available floor space and headroom.
