Today, wheelchair-accessible vehicles can range in price from $15,000 to $85,000, and we realize not everyone has that kind of money sitting around. Therefore, we created a document that lists organizations that help with payment assistance and grants to purchase a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. You can find it here on our website.
Most of what you will find on our helpful links & resource page are providers offering partial payment assistance through grants for wheelchair vans & adaptive equipment. Some even have wheelchair vans to donate. Examples include Easter Seals, United Way, Sam Schmidt Foundation, and Victoria’s Victory.
You’ll also find some organizations who offer free or full payment assistance on wheelchair vans, but note these are much harder to qualify for and secure, and some are state specific. Examples include St. Nicholas Foundation & MDFF in Indiana and Victoria’s Victory.
There are also several government programs, like the one for disabled veterans that are very helpful. There’s something for everyone! However, it does take time to sort through them. It will take hard work and diligence, so don’t get discouraged. The sooner you begin, the better.
